Troubleshooting & FAQ

Common connection errors, SSL issues, SSH bastion debugging, and memory optimizations.

Frequently Asked Questions & Diagnostics

1. SSL Handshake Failed / Self-Signed Certificates

If connecting to internal corporate databases with self-signed SSL certificates:

  1. Open the Connection Settings dialog.
  2. Under SSL / TLS, set SSL Mode to require or verify-ca.
  3. Upload your organization's custom root CA certificate in PEM format.

2. SQLite Database is Locked (SQLITE_BUSY)

When multiple processes write to an SQLite database concurrently, enable Write-Ahead Logging (WAL) in CATable:

PRAGMA journal_mode = WAL;
PRAGMA busy_timeout = 5000;

3. SSH Bastion Connection Timeouts

If connections drop after periods of inactivity, enable the ServerAliveInterval option in the SSH Tunnel tab:

Keep-Alive Interval: 30 seconds
Max Retries: 3

4. Memory Consumption on Very Large Result Sets

When running queries returning hundreds of thousands of rows, ensure Virtual Pagination is enabled (default: 500 rows per chunk) or use DuckDB streaming export to Parquet.
